Q: Who are you and why are you providing this service?
A: My friends and I have been running a soccer pool for past World Cups and European Championships since 1996. In the past we have always used Excel spreadsheets to do the pool, but since 2008 we have moved to an online version and invited more people to join. The 2008 European Championships pool was a great success, so why not continue the fun!

Q: Can I submit more than one entry?
A: Sure, more the merrier. Just for each entry please use a unique username.

Q: I entered the pool but I want to change some of my selections before the tournament starts, can I?
A: Yes, just email wc2010@roecken.ca with your change request before the tournament's first game.

Q: I entered the pool but I am not receving any emails, why?
A: The emails are sent out using a PHP script and the mail() function. Some mail programs have installed filter software that may prevent these emails from making it through. Try and see if this filter can be removed to allow emails from the roecken.ca domain. All emails will be sent from wc2010@roecken.ca. NOTE: Hotmail users, please check your Junk folder for these emails.

Q: If there is a tie and even after the tiebreaker is used there is still a tie, what happens?
A: If there is a tie even after the tiebreaker, the combined winnings would be shared. For example, if there is a tie for 1st even after the tiebreaker, the two players would share 40% (50% + 30% split by two) of the total each. A tie for second and third would be a share of 25% (30% + 20% split by two) of the total each. A three way tie would share 33% (100% split three ways).
