For $8 you get to enter the Museum of Civilization in Bass-Ville (Lower Town). Not overly large, this museum tries to showcase the history of past moments in human civilization.
The museum routinely rotates exhibits but on our visit the exhibits were: The History of Indonesia, The History of Native Indians in Quebec, The History and Heritage of Quebec and its People, The History of World Politics and Autopsy of a Murder.
Although most exhibits are meant to be casually wandered and viewed, the Autopsy of a Murder exhibit actually is more hands on and you actually get to solve a mystery as you walk through it, so in a sense you are playing a detective gathering clues and what not, trying to solve the case. The exhibit can get rather crowded due to its interactive nature so be prepared to be a little patient and for this exhibit to take the bulk of your time.
Overall, the museum is good for people of all ages and especially children as it can get them excited about learning. On a not so nice day, the museum is a perfect way to kill some time. Be prepared to set aside about 2 hours for a complete visit. Also, try to arrive early since as lunchtime approaches, the lines tend to get longer.
