You will need a map to find the Ayo Rock Formations as signage is pretty much non-existent. The site is open 9am - 5pm and is free. Make sure to have good walking/climbing shoes, as there are no real manmade paths for easy hiking.
The rock formations are made up of several massive rocks that all seemed to have been assembled on top of one another. The formations supposedly served the early inhabitants of the island as a housing or religious site.
You can walk up along the rocks and through the many cracks, but be prepared for the odd challenging spot. Just make sure to be sure footed. The view from higher ground shows a sprawling landscape of the surrounding cacti.
