Restaurant Initiale was right next door from our Hotel so we got there within two minutes. From the moment we stepped in the ambiance was noticeable. The environment was classical with 40 seats strategically placed throughout the venue. There was a semi-dark wash of colours along the walls, but the tables illuminated with white table settings and plates. The atmosphere was soft and calm. By far we were the youngest couple in there by a few years and at first we seemed out of place. Everything was at the highest level of quality, from the service to the silverware. Nobody here missed a beat.
We enjoyed a nice glass of wine and our French delicacies. We saw from the pictures that the portions were not large, but they offer a lot of things to you that are not on the menu, which do fill you up. After dinner you get a choice of different cheeses. Everything came well presented and most importantly it tasted good. The price is steep, but this dinner was also to celebrate our two year anniversary, so we decided to splurge on ourselves. Two and half hours later we finally finished; content and satisfied. It is also worth noting that the menu is seasonal, so check online to see what is being offered.
There are also special rooms provided outside the main dining room called the Salon rooms that seats groups of either 4-8 people or 6-12. These are good for private parties and functions.
Please also note that reservations are a must and are the only way you will get a spot in this restaurant. Restaurant is closed on Sundays.
