Nicely situated just off of Hwy #8 and a few minutes from Hwy #401, the Holiday-Inn Kitchener offers all the amenities a traveler to this region needs. An award winning hotel, this Holiday-Inn is much different from the typical stereotypes the chain received from years past.
We stayed at this hotel during Oktoberfest. It was a last minute decision made two days before our visit. Not many hotels in the region were available at a decent price or with an optimal location. Lesson learnt for next time. In any case, this hotel was the best in terms of location, but its price was still a bit high. Luckily, we were able to get a corporate discount.
The hotel provides ample free parking and is located right by Fairview Mall and many different dining options. It has both an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as a hot tub. Free Internet is also available in the foyer if you did not bring a laptop to use in the guest rooms.
Upon entry it was quite noticeable the cleanliness of the front foyer and the politeness of the staff. The guestrooms have had a recent renovation and are well equipped. Their size is more than ample and where we stayed in the Business Tower, our bathroom was the largest I have seen outside the glam hotels. A nice feature was heated floors in the bathroom.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the hotel, although for only one night. A bit on the pricey side, but if you can get by that you should enjoy the stay.
