Veni Vedi Vici is in the heart of Little Italy in Toronto. It offers large padded booths and dim romantic lighting presenting seclusion and comfort. The staff is very attentive (almost too much) to clientele and ensures you receive a pleasurable meal.
The atmosphere is relaxed and the decor is classic Italian with the ceiling arched much like in a cathedral. The selection for food was minimal but there was enough choice so that one could find something to enjoy. Entrees ranged from $15 to $30 and portions were reasonable. For dinner I had the Penne alla Vodka which were penne noodles with sauteed pancetta and onion in a tomato cream sauce, it was delicious. My friend enjoyed his Stuffed Breast of Chicken, which was stuffed with Brie cheese, served with basmati rice in a pesto cream sauce. He enjoyed his meal so much that he finished it in a wink of an eye.
Overall this restaurant had a good ambiance and a classic Italian vibe that most people would find comforting, although I will say that this restaurant is a little on the fancier side so if you are going to come, its great for a birthday or a night out with good friends.
Reservations are required, although when we went (in the early spring) the restaurant was not full. In the summer, seating is limited. Bon appetite!
