Nighttime activities in Montreal are diverse and plentiful. With some of the larger universities and colleges in the country located here, it helps to liven up the evenings. The relaxed atmosphere with a French touch allows one to enjoy any of the various bars, cafes, restaurants and nightclubs. With last call for alcohol in the province of Quebec set at 3am, it also gives patrons a little longer to enjoy the evening.
As a visitor to the city, there are two main areas where a higher concentration of nighttime establishments can be found. Wondering thorough any of these two areas will surely allow you to stumble upon a place that fits your taste.
In the east, there is Crescent Street, between Ste-Catherine and De Maisonneuve, which will have music blaring from the numerous clubs/bars and roof top terraces. At night, this section of the street is sprawling with partygoers looking for any place to have some good fun. This area is the one most people are accustom to when looking for a place to go out while in town.
The second area is about a 15-20 minute walk northwest from Crescent and is known as St. Laurent. The section between Prince-Arthur and Sherbrooke streets seems to attract more locals but is just as lively. Many restaurants and cafes can be found here as well as some of the trendier nightspots. In the summer months, the terraces are a plentiful on the side streets and a casual stroll will surely find you a place you will enjoy.
Have fun!
