Located in the heart of Richmond Hill, Marlowes is the trendy new hot spot that is an excellent option for either corporate or intimate parties. Marlowes caters to a posh crowd offering a fusion based menu and eclectic cooking options. It also has a wine and martini menu offering ample varieties of your favourite drinks, as well as bubbly and assorted cocktails. My personal favourite is the Caramel Apple Martini, which I simply can't drink enough of and I'm a picky drinker.

Red couches, interior brick throughout the restaurant and dark tables fit the ambiance to give this venue a first class appeal. After about 9:30pm on most nights, the lights dim down and the music starts. Wednesday nights is salsa night so if you like Latin music, be sure to arrive for 9pm when free Latin dance lessons start, which is followed by a live Cuban and salsa band. Each night there is a feature theme so be sure to check out the web site for the most recent events.

There are two sets of times you can make dinner reservations. The first is between 6 and 6:30pm and the second is between 9 and 9:30pm. If you want to make reservations to this place, be sure to make them early because Saturday nights fill up fast, and space can get limited. Because of the strict reservation times the service can be questionable at times, as it seems sometimes the servers are lost, either forgetting about you or your order. But if you have a bit of patience this should not be too much of a problem.

I suggest calling at least 3 days in advance, so you don't have to bother waiting when you get there. There is also a $10 cover charge that starts at 10pm on Friday and Saturday nights, so I suggest coming earlier for a drink and sticking around for the entertainment that follows shortly after.

With the ambitious ambiance and good late night entertainment, it's not hard to believe that Marlowes is doing so well. For a place north of the city, it's a good option to entertain if going downtown is not your forte. The food and drinks are good and the music is trendy. Enjoy!
